You count as a teen or preteen as soon as you graduate from 4th grade!
The teen area is a room in the library that’s just for teens. Adults and kids are welcome to browse for books, but only teens and preteens can sit and hang out there. It’s got comfy chairs and tables for working.
TACOS and NACHOS are groups of teens and preteens who meet monthly and advise the teen librarian about what they want to see in the library, whether it’s books, programs, or decorations in the teen area.
TACOS (Teen Advisory Council of Students) is made up of teens entering grades 8-12. TACOS members will plan and run a library program in the spring. Applications are available now and due by September 12th. TACOS will meet monthly on the third Friday of the month. You can pick them up at the library or online.
NACHOS (‘Nother Advisory Council Having Other Students) is for students entering grades 5-7. This is NACHOS’ first year as a separate program, so NACHOS participants will get to help shape the future of the NACHOS program. NACHOS will meet monthly on the second Friday of the month. Applications are available now and due by September 5th. You can pick them up at the library or online.
