Any resident of a county (including Adams, Columbia, Dane, Green, Portage, Sauk, and Wood counties) in the South Central Library System (SCLS) is eligible for a Waunakee Public Library card.
Children of any age can get a card. Children under 16 will need a parent or guardian’s signature on their application.
How do I get a card?
In-person - Bring your photo I.D. and proof of address to the library and fill out an application. See below for accepted proof of address.
Online - Fill out the online application to receive a limited use card. The card number will be emailed to you and the physical card will be mailed to you. Follow the directions included in this email to convert your card to a full-use card that can check out items.

We ask for a photo I.D. and proof of your current address. A driver’s license with your current address meets both criteria. If your photo I.D. does not have a current address, we will accept the following:
- A checkbook with your name and current address pre-printed on it
- A current lease or bill with your name and address on it
- A piece of current mail with your name and current address on it
Children under 16 years old will require a parent or guardian’s signature on their card.
