Are you tired of strategic subscriptions? Cancelling one service when your show finishes, restarting another when a new show starts, waiting for an entire season to finish so you can binge it all at once without paying for multiple months, all while balancing the increasing service prices?
Access to media and information is kind of a big deal for us at the library. We’re always looking for ways for our community to enjoy new movies and TV shows, even if you can’t afford seventeen subscriptions at once! Read on to discover ways you can ditch streaming services – all free with your library card!

Kanopy
Stream thousands of films and series ad-free with Kanopy!
Kanopy has a wide variety of recent releases (Thelma, Anora, Lee), classic films (Some Like it Hot, Roman Holiday, Dr. Strangelove), familiar favorites (First Wives Club, 13 Going on 30, This is Spinal Tap) and popular shows (Ghosts UK, BBC Pride and Prejudice, Freaks and Geeks).
Once you make an account with your library card, you receive 12 tickets each month to be redeemed for content. Ticket “costs” vary by title. Tickets reset at the beginning of each month, and any unused tickets do not carry over. Download the Kanopy app to watch on your device or cast to your TV.

Kanopy Kids
Kanopy also has a Kids version that features hundreds of great titles for children, no tickets required! From classic episodes of Reading Rainbow to new adventures with Blippi, there’s a wide variety of enriching content geared towards ages 2-8.

DVDs & Blu-Rays
Relive the nostalgia of a Friday night trip to Blockbuster, now at the library! Browse hundreds of DVDs and Blu-Rays to discover your movie night lineup, or place a hold to have it ready for pickup. We have feature films, family movies, TV shows, world cinema, exercise DVDs, and documentaries. Don’t forget to check the Lucky Day shelves in the lobby for new releases and popular titles.
(Although we do our best to provide access to popular titles, some streaming services like Netflix and Disney+ keep their content exclusive and won’t release a physical DVD that we can circulate. We would love to be able to offer the latest season of Stranger Things and Andor, but for now those are not available to us.)

DVD Players
Our Library of Things offers options to watch a DVD even if your DVD player is long gone. We circulate a DVD player that connects to a TV with an HDMI cord and a DVD drive that connects to a laptop with a USB cable. The DVD players are kept in the lobby, or you can ask a staff member to place a hold.

Kindle Fire Tablet
Another Library of Things option is our Kindle Fire tablet. This tablet is preloaded with hundreds of new movies and includes access to Amazon Prime streaming content. Ask a staff member to check if this is available or place a hold!
