Come and join the Capital Area Carvers of Wisconsin (CACW) for an introduction to woodcarving.  You arrive interested and enthused, and members of CACW will provide safety gloves, tools, wood, and guide you through this carving experience.  Topics to be covered will include; knife safety, you will learn about and practice various types of wood cuts, and experience how the grain of the wood influences how the knife moves through the wood.   Class participants will carve a sphere on the end of a piece of wood, and as time permits carve a simple owl. Information about various carving opportunities in the Madison area will be provided. Ages 12 and up.
