Outer-Library Loan (OLL - formerly ILL) is a borrowing privilege available to residents of Adams, Columbia, Dane, Green, Portage, Sauk, and Wood counties with a valid library card. This service allows patrons to borrow materials from libraries within the United States that are NOT AVAILABLE in LINKcat.

ALWAYS CHECK LINKcat, the library's catalog, FIRST to see if we own the material BEFORE submitting OLL requests.

Outer-library loans are not allowed under the following circumstances:
Item is available in LINKcat
 
Item is less than 6 months old
Patron fines exceed $10
"Stop" on patron's card
More than 5 OLL titles requested in 1 day
More than 50 OLL requests per person per calendar year
Patron has active payment plan

Items can be requested by either:

Sending an E-mail from WorldCat
(WorldCat opens in new window so these instructions can be viewed while inputting)

  1. Click WorldCat to go to site
  2. Enter your library card number
  3. Click on "Advanced Search" in the top blue bar
  4. Enter your search information in the appropriate fields
  5. Click "Search" at the bottom
  6. Choose the correct item and click on its title (underlined in blue)
  7. Verify that it is the correct item, then click the E-mail button in the top gray bar
  8. Enter wauoll@scls.lib.wi.us in the To: field
  9. Add any additional notes in the Notes: field. *Please include your NAME, PHONE#, AND LIBRARY CARD#*
  10. Click "Send"
