Friends of Waunakee Public Library

Who Are We?

 

Friends of Waunakee Public Library are citizens who:

  • work together to strengthen and expand services at Waunakee Public Library,
  • purchase print and non-print materials, equipment, and services not readily obtained through the regular library budget,
  • contribute to the cultural opportunities of their community,
  • use their imagination and energy to promote library resources as a matchless means of enriching people's lives.

 

What do we do?

 

Friends of Waunakee Public Library:

  • sponsor two major fundraisers each year,
  • a Holiday Craft Fair & Bake Sale on the Saturday prior to Thanksgiving,
  • a Garden Tour & Raffle on the second Friday and Saturday in July,
  • sponsor or co-sponsor speakers and programs of interest to readers and the community,
  • volunteer to assist with library programs and behind-the-scenes library projects.

 

What have we done?

 

A sampling of the items and programs we have funded for Waunakee Public Library in the past three years:

  • DVDs, videotapes, and CD-roms to expand the collections,
  • Little Tykes computer and desk
  • Display easels
  • Color printer and fax machine for the library office
  • Video display shelving
  • Prizes for children's and young adults' summer library programs
  • Public access computers
  • New desk for library office
  • Board books used as gifts for Waunakee newborns
  • Author Michael Perry (co-sponsored)
  • Performers "Cheney & Mills"
